Abstract art extracts from reality using the forms of reality. For Dorazio, abstract art serves to objectify his intentions, his thoughts, translating them into concrete images of form and color. Hence his “Concrete Art” movement of the 1980s, of which he was a member. This abstract art no longer interprets the experience of reality; it prescinds from objective experience; it considers the formative and technical process of the artwork as concrete reality, making it creative and unique because it is strictly personal.
